If having a more functional/lasting eraser directly on the pencil is a feature you care about neither model is probably a good choice, I just keep the little eraser cap on it all the time and forget there's even an eraser in there. I always have separate erasers anyway so I nearly forgot about it, but I have some random cheap plastic mechanical pencils for general writing that have pretty long erasers that twist out as you use them up and work pretty well. One thing I forgot to mention is that the erasers for both the Staedtler and GraphGear are extremely tiny and basically useless. The metal body provides weight balance for fatigue-free writing and drawing. and when I do it (which is always) it erases really cleanly. The Four Candies Mechanical Pencil Set with Case is the perfect set for writing and drawing, containing 4pcs 0.7mm drawing mechanical pencils, 6 tubes of 2 lead (HB), 3pcs 4B erasers and 9pcs eraser refills. But I know I like both of them a lot for general drawing, so I don't see why not! I've been doing a lot of pen and ink drawing and using them for the initial sketch, not manga specifically but close enough I think? The 0.3 with some HB lead in particular is really nice for sketching before inking something since you can keep things so fine and light that you don't even need to erase afterwards, the ink covers it completely unless I make an oopsie. I'm not personally a manga artist so I'm not 100% sure. I also would like to try Uni NanoDia and Pilot Neox, but I got some regular Pentel Hi-Polymer HB left over from my school pencils, but I got some sets of Pentel Ain Stein lead in different grades but the shipping was delayed due to the snow storms we're having here at the moment so I haven't had a chance to try them out. I'm still experimenting with different leads. I'm planning to put a different lead grade in the graphgear so that I don't have to switch them out if I need some darker accents. Alvin DRAFT/MATICs were my mother's favorite (she was a landscape architect and had them from the 70s/80s) but I believe they're actually going out of business :(.

They're a tiny bit cheaper but basically the same price, at least here in the US, not sure about the UK - around $11 each. I also have one Pentel GraphGear 1000 that I like a lot too.

Huge upgrade over the plastic ones I was using leftover from note-taking in my university years!

I imagine they're somewhere around that mark in the UK? So far I love them! Very sturdy construction (all metal), super comfortable to use.

I went a little crazy and splurged on myself and got the full set (0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 & 2mm clutch) for $55, but individually they're only around $12 USD each here in the US so not really that much savings buying them all at once. I just recently got a Staedtler Drafting Pencil set.
